I have just bought a brand new MS509 from a chinese seller on Ebay. It CANNOT BE "SEEN" when i plug it into either of my two XP SP3 Pcs or my Win7 Vaio laptop.
Therefore i cannot save OR print out the scanner results.
Unbelivably, Ttere seems to be NO "LEGACY" SUPPORT by Autel.
(My suplier contacted them & said "But we feel so sorry about this situation. We have contacted our supplier, just get the reply that this is an old version and cannot be updated and print. We sincerely apologize to u.In this case, we are also the victim and we are now communicating with them. Also, we will inform our future buyers for this situation.")
I have tried installing Virtual USB/Serial port drivers from other manufacturers (FTDI, AMD64, Boost, CDM20824, I386, Ross, Static, Symbol, Suunto, Uc232 & ZP43).
The best (on XP SP3) i have ended up with is a "USB Serial Port (com3)" with a "cannot start (code 10), using drivers ftser2k.sys, sersnun.sys, ftcserco.dll & ftserui.dll. - SO I STILL CANNOT "SEE" THE MS509 !!
Can anyone tell me/the rest of us, how to create a WORKING port ?
Can i use a USB > Serial converter (or make up a suitable lead) & plug into my PC serial port instead of the USB ? & will MaxiLink still "see it" ?
This does seem to be a perennial problem on this forum & Autel do not help by saying "you must buy the superceeding model (at over twice the price !)
Many thanks, Rod.
